Another weekend of skiing on the Tirol glaciers. This time we hit Pitztal and Stubai.

Weather forecast said rain, cold and snow but it was summer one week ago.

Pitztal was in the clouds and it was snowing heavily with some wind gusts. Visibility was poor but it was a good workout skiing from 3400 meters down to 3000.

There was a chance of sun shine so we went to Stubaier Gletcher on the last day. White morning in the valley.

Met some more Finns in the lift line and we got to share the lift for an extra 45 minutes when the thing broke down. Not a bad view.

Weather was not bad and neither was snow.

Then began the powder fest. 40 cm of fresh snow in the sun with no base so we hit a number of rocks, or sharks as some say.

Jouni and one turn wonder.

My few powder splashes.

Another set of good turns by Jouni.

If you are a skier and driving along mountain regions, and you haven't seen snow in few months, then the white peaks can be rather distracting and it is hard to consentrate on things like driving a car.

Now I will start counting my power ski days this year. Criteria is good visibility and fresh powder so the counter starts from one now.

Powder days = 1

A good weekend it was.
